"Everything starts with a good story," Ashley Jane says. She should know. The award-winning, multi-faceted Toronto songwriter and vocalist has shared plenty of her own.

It starts with a career producing and directing documentary films, coupled with years spent honing her musical skills writing with her folk duo In the City. Those artistic worlds came together when she was part of the first songwriting duo to be accepted into the prestigious Slaight Family Music Residency at Norman Jewison’s Canadian Film Centre, where she studied with renowned musicians and creatives.

Her songs have received millions of streams and been the soundtrack for big emotional moments in over fifty television shows and films. In 2024 she was nominated for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Song for the film Queen Tut. She is currently working on her debut full length album as a solo artist.
